One of many songs written awhile back

My first post with a song of mine. How exciting! I'm thrilled to be sharing with you these inspired songs about life. This one happens to be about divorce. I'm not divorced, but my parents are and this is just a story of how divorce can play in the future of a child. Introspective kind of look. Below are the lyrics:

I know that this past holds me back

This battle we have just began
But, I lay down my pride to work on what we have
